“We know millions of parents are eager to get their children vaccinated and with this decision, we now have recommended that about 28 million children receive a COVID-19 vaccine,”Rochelle Walensky, Director at the CDC, said this in a statement. The news comes just in time to get the age group partially vaccinated before the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, one of the nation’s busiest travel periods. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved pediatric doses for children aged 5-11 on Tuesday afternoon.
